While it may be true that genetics plays a considerable role in an individual’s capacity for peak power, the fact is very few of your competitors or team mates will train specifically to increase vertical leap power.

If you are looking to increase your vertical jump, performing these three exercises is essential. Make sure to measure your vertical jump height before starting any program so you have a base measure to gage your results from. This will allow you to see what is working to help increase your vertical jump and what is not.

Knee Bends Vertical Leap Exercises
To perform the knee bends exercises to increase vertical leap, stand straight and then slowly but steadily bend at the knees, maintaining a straight back. Slowly crouch down as low as possible, make sure it doesn’t hurt; if it hurts then crouch till the height you are comfortable and don’t feel any pain. Then slowly rise up again, and repeat this exercise 15 times.

Knee Bend Jumps
The above exercise is again repeated in this exercise, with a slight difference. Bend your knees such that your bottom almost touches the ground. The next step is to plunge in the upward direction as high as you can.

The moment you land on the ground, you are supposed to bend your knees as in the first position. This exercise must be started with 10 counts and the counts must be increased weekly.
