Are you an athlete who really wants to leap much higher and increase vertical leap while retaining your leaping prowess through time, here are a couple tips that you can give a shot.
This exercise is great when you want to focus on hips and knees to increase your vertical leap fast. It is hurdle hopping, where hurdles are arranged in a row and the distance between them is uniform. Jump or spring forward over the hurdles without breaking the rhythm.
Lift with your knees together, close to the chest as much as possible and land on the ball of your feet. Without waiting, continue with the next vertical leap exercises in the sequence.
That will not do. You can only achieve success by trying out different exercises that will help you improve both your speed and your strength. Exercises that should focus on speed is better tried out first then the exercises that work on strength.
Remember building up strength first tends to build up bulkier muscles and big muscles are just a waste of energy. In order to jump high we need to build on lean muscle.
Sprinting helps develop your calf muscles as well because when you sprint you dig into the ground with your toes and when you push off the ground it strengthens your calf muscles.
Toned abdominals have proven to have a significant effect on the level of vertical leap. Most people do sit ups and crunches to strengthen these core areas. But some of the most effective techniques to get your abdominals in shape and strengthen the muscles are the suspended leg lifts.
